Can you search for someone on Bumble?
Not inside the app. Bumble has no search bar and no username lookup. It shows you one profile at a time based on your location, age range and filters. Bumble also doesn’t publish profiles on the open web the way Tinder’s username pages do. That makes Bumble one of the harder apps to search from outside.
Our free scan still checks Bumble for the username you enter, along with other dating apps. Bumble matches come up less often than Tinder matches, so if the scan finds nothing, it doesn’t mean the person isn’t on Bumble. Use the methods below too.
How to find someone on Bumble: 5 methods
1. Run a free username scan
Enter the handle the person uses on Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat in the box above. The scan covers Bumble and other apps, and a hit on Tinder or another app is often just as useful an answer.
2. Look for their Instagram or Spotify on Bumble
Many Bumble users connect Instagram or add their top Spotify artists. If you see a profile you suspect is theirs, a linked Instagram is one of the clearest ways to confirm who it is.
3. Narrow your own Bumble filters
If you have a Bumble account, set your location near where the person lives or works, match the age range to theirs, and keep the distance small. Bumble may show their profile in your queue. This is slow and not guaranteed. Bumble decides the order, and the person can block you from seeing them.
4. Reverse image search their photos
If someone sent you their “Bumble photos”, or you’re talking to a match you’re unsure about, run it through our free photo search. It rarely finds the Bumble profile itself, but it does catch stolen photos used by fake profiles.
5. Search by name with a partner service (paid)
If you know their full name, a people-search service can look up usernames, emails and social accounts linked to it, which you can then scan for free. On our site, that option is always labeled as a paid partner.
Things that hide a Bumble profile

Signs a Bumble profile is fake
- No photo verification badge and only a few very polished photos
- An empty bio, or one that asks you to message them on WhatsApp, Telegram or Snapchat
- A match who quickly moves to talking about money, crypto or an investment
- Photos that appear under another name in a reverse image search

Can I search Bumble without an account?
Yes. Our free scan checks Bumble and other apps by username without a Bumble account. To browse Bumble itself, you’d need your own profile.
Can you search Bumble by name?
No. Bumble has no name search, and first names aren’t unique. Use a username if you have one, or try the other methods on this page.
Can you search Bumble by phone number?
No. Bumble uses phone numbers to verify accounts but never shows or searches them. A number can lead you to a name or username through other methods. See our phone number guide.
Will they know I searched for them?
No. Our scan doesn’t contact Bumble users or notify anyone. If you browse Bumble from your own account and swipe right on them, they could see you if they swipe right too.
Why didn’t the scan find their Bumble profile?
Bumble profiles are harder to find than Tinder profiles because Bumble keeps them inside the app. They may also be snoozed, incognito, deleted, or under a different name. Try other usernames, and check Tinder and other apps.
