Find Dating Profiles by Phone Number

Dating apps hide phone numbers, so no tool can search them by number directly. Here’s what you can do with a number instead, including free checks to see if a match is real.

Can you find someone’s dating profile with their phone number?

Not directly. Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and other apps use phone numbers to verify accounts, but they never show them on profiles or let anyone search by number. So any site that promises to “find Tinder by phone number” is overselling. A phone number can still lead you to a name and usernames, and those can lead you to a profile.

Free ways to use a phone number

1. Search the number in Google and Bing

Search the number in quotes, in a few formats: "555-123-4567", "5551234567", "(555) 123-4567". You may find listings, ads, reviews, or scam reports tied to it.

2. Save it as a contact and check messaging apps

Save the number in your phone, then open WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal. If the person uses those apps, you may see a profile photo, name or username, depending on their privacy settings. Any username you find can be checked with our free username search.

3. Check payment apps

Apps like Venmo or Cash App sometimes show the name and photo attached to a phone number when you start a payment. Don’t send anything; just compare the name and photo with what your match told you.

4. Look up the number type

Free carrier lookup tools can tell you if a number is a VoIP or internet number (Google Voice, TextNow and similar). Scammers often use them because they’re free and disposable. A VoIP number isn’t proof of a scam, but together with other red flags it should make you careful.

Reverse phone lookup (paid)

A people-search service can link a number to a name, address history and associated online accounts using public records. It’s a paid service run by a partner, and if you enter a phone number above we show a clearly labeled option.

Getting texts from a “match” you’ve never met? Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you only know online, and never share verification codes sent to your phone. That’s a common way scammers take over accounts. Report scams at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

FAQ

Can I find a Tinder account by phone number?

No. Tinder never shows phone numbers or lets anyone search by them. Use the number to find a name or username first, then search that username.

Is there a free reverse phone lookup?

Search engines, messaging apps and carrier lookup tools are free and often give you a name or photo. Detailed public-records reports are usually paid.

Will the person know I looked up their number?

Searching a number on Google or with a lookup service doesn’t notify them. Saving the number to your contacts can make you appear as a suggested contact on some apps.
