How Our Dating Profile Search Works

We think you should know exactly what a search tool does before you trust its results. Here’s how ours works, what it checks, and where its limits are.

What happens when you search a username

  1. Your browser sends the username to our search server. Only the username itself is sent. You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask who you are.
  2. Our server checks public profile pages. It looks for publicly accessible dating profiles that use that exact username, and reports its progress to you live.
  3. You see what’s public. If a profile is found, we show its publicly visible details (display name, photos, age, location, bio) and a link to the profile, exactly as anyone visiting that page could see them.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t log in to dating apps, create fake accounts, or access private data.
  • We can’t see messages, matches, likes, swipes or activity history.
  • We can’t search apps that have no public profile pages, such as Bumble, Hinge and Facebook Dating.
  • We don’t save your searches or notify the person you searched for.

Why we focus on usernames

Dating apps keep names, emails and phone numbers private, so no honest tool can search them directly. Usernames are different: they’re public, often unique, and frequently reused across apps. That makes username search the most accurate free method. For emails, we help you scan the username part. For names and phone numbers, we point you to free techniques in our guides.

Partner searches (paid)

For searches we can’t run ourselves, like public-records lookups by name, email or phone, we show a button to a paid people-search partner. These buttons always name the partner and are marked as paid, and we may earn a commission if you buy something. Using a partner is always optional. See our affiliate disclosure.

Accuracy

A profile found under a username belongs to whoever created it, which is not necessarily the person you have in mind. Always compare photos and details. A “no result” doesn’t prove someone isn’t on dating apps either: they may use a different username or a private app.

Acceptable use

Our tool is for personal safety and verification: checking a match is real, spotting scams, and getting clarity in your own relationships. Don’t use it to harass, stalk or intimidate anyone, or for employment, housing, credit or insurance decisions. See our terms.
