Can you search for someone on Tinder?
Not inside the app. Tinder has no search bar: it only shows you profiles one at a time based on your location, age range and preferences. But Tinder users can set a username, and that creates a public web profile at tinder.com/@username. Those public pages can be checked from outside the app, and that’s what our free Tinder profile search does.
How to find someone on Tinder by username (Tinder account finder)
- Enter the username above. Their Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat handle is a good place to start.
- Wait for the scan. We check whether a public Tinder profile exists for that username and show its public details.
- Compare the details. Check that the photos, age and location match before assuming it’s the person you know.
Other free ways to find a Tinder profile (search by name or photo)
1. Google the Tinder profile URL
Public Tinder profiles can show up in search engines. Try these searches in Google or Bing:

2. Reverse image search their photos
Upload a photo of the person to Google Lens, Bing Visual Search or TinEye. This rarely finds Tinder profiles themselves, but it’s the best way to see if a match is using stolen photos, a common sign of a catfish or scammer.
3. Look for a linked Instagram or Spotify
Many Tinder profiles connect Instagram or Spotify. If you see a match’s profile, those links can confirm their identity. If you know their Instagram, search that handle above.
4. Change your own discovery settings
If you have a Tinder account, setting your location and age range to match the person may show their profile in your stack. This is slow and not guaranteed, because Tinder decides who appears.
Is my partner still active on Tinder?
Finding a profile doesn’t prove someone is currently using Tinder. Old profiles can stay up after someone stops using the app, and many people forget to delete their account. If you find a profile, look for signs of recent activity, like new photos or an updated bio. Talking to your partner about it directly is often more reliable than any tool.
Spotting a fake Tinder profile
- Only one or two very polished photos, or photos that look professionally shot
- An empty bio, or one that pushes you toward another app or a link
- Asking to move to WhatsApp or Telegram right away
- No verified (blue check) badge, though some real users aren’t verified either
